MEETINGS:  The Mesa Verde Back Country Horsemen meet the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm, usually at the Elks Lodge on Highway 145 just north of Cortez, CO.  Meetings typically start with an educational program or guest speaker covering a wide range of topics of interest to horsemen and users of our public lands. The business meeting follows the program.   Join us early, around 6:15 pm, for dinner and social time.  Guests are welcome!  Please e-mail us prior to each meeting to confirm the location, topic, and dinner plans.

The MVBCH Board Meeting is held the 3rd Thursday of each month. Members are invited to all Board meetings. Time and place are announced before each meeting

WHEN DO WE RIDE?:  Various members go on informal trail rides during the week and on weekends throughout the year.  Call around if you are looking for a riding partner.  Members also enjoy gathering together to ride in local parades like Memorial Day, 4th of July, Mancos Days, and Escalante Days.  These are not official Chapter rides or events, just friends getting together to ride our many wonderful mountains, forests, and canyons we have here.

The Montezuma County Fairgrounds on Highway 160 East of Cortez are also available for open riding.  The arenas require a Horse Pass but the loop trails on the south side of the grounds do not. Call 970-565-1000 for information.

Chapter LOGO:  Susan Matteson designed our wonderful logo which we have embroidered on long sleeved denim shirts.  They are used by our group in parades and public events as a fun way of letting people know about our Chapter.  The logo can also can be silk screened onto your shirts, caps, jackets, etc.
